September Class Notes
Jessie D. Rose’32 passed away June 8, 2007, at the age of 93. Jessie is survived by her husband, Charles (Bud); sons, Gary (Barbara), Richard (Donna), and Dennis (Carole); six grandchildren, Allison, Aaron, Jennifer, Janis, Julie, and Tom; and eight great-grandchildren. A life-long resident of North Chili, Jessie was an active member of Pearce Memorial Free Methodist Church.
John M. MacGregor’39 went home to be with the Lord in July 2007.
Gloria (Johnson) Fidler’58 published her second book, Adventures in India ~ Book 1: The Winding Path.
Rachel Schwedt’67 will be publishing book number four titled Core Collection for Children and Young Adults.
Mervin G. Erhard’68 passed away June 28, 2007. Merv was an ordained minister who previously served as assistant pastor at the Park Ridge Free Methodist Church in Greece, NY.
Keith Lohnes’68 is the interim associate pastor of Grace Methodist church in Mississauga, ON.
Marge Beers’70 passed away in May 2005 after a brief battle with cancer. She is survived by four grown and married children and ten grandchildren. Her family is comforted, knowing she is in heaven and they will see her there.
June (Mas) Bond’73 and her husband Edward moved to San Antonio where they are pioneering a new church in the second fastest growing city in America. June is busy learning Spanish. She is also an enrichment teacher at the Myers Elementary School in the Northside School District which has 81,000 students and is a bilingual school. Her daughter Giavanna lives in San Antonio and works for a leading architecture firm. Her son in Washington, DC, is working for a fast growing computer company as a senior software engineer and also pioneering a church.
Andrew Schreffler’79 and wife Myrtle celebrated the birth of their first grandchild, Calista Ami Niolet. She was born June 2007 at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska.
Ralph Burg Frisbee’86 died April 26, 2007, in Elkhart, IN. He was born on January 7, 1941, in Olean, NY. A veteran of the Cold War and Vietnam, he served in the US Navy. He was an ordained minister and pastor of several churches in PA.
Glen Sisson’86 recently accepted a promotion to work for General Electric Corporation in Plainsville, CT, as an Engineering Systems Manager. He is responsible for the strategic planning and development for North American industrial circuit breakers produced by G.E. Glen previously worked as a Product Development Engineering manager for Cutler-Hammer. Glen and his wife Kim’84 have relocated their family to Wolcott, CT, where Kim will continue homeschooling their children. Glen and Kim recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary.
Mark Quick’95 recently accepted a new position as Manager, Entrepreneurial Business Group with DMCT LLP, Chartered Accountants in Toronto, Ontario CANADA.
Robert Pereira’96 is employed at Hendrick BMW in Charlotte, NC. He recently received the Platinum level of Profiles and Achievement through BMW USA as well as trips to Australia, Ireland, and Argentina. Jill Pereira’98 completed a master’s in reading education and recently completed the National Boards for Teaching Certification in early education. She is teaching Kindergarten in Charlotte, NC.
Elizabeth Atwood’96 just completed her master’s in special education from Wilmington College in DE. She accepted a position as special education teacher at Cedar Chapel School in Snow Hill, Maryland.
Peter and Michelle (O’Brien) Daly’96 welcomed a new baby girl, Madison Elizabeth, born June 20, 2007. Madison joins brother Alex, 2.
Becky Bordner’97 married Matthew Perotti on June 16, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church in Butler, PA, where they are both members. Becky and Matt reside in Butler as well.
Mark’99 and Dawnielle Matteson’98 welcomed a daughter, Julia Ruth, born September 11, 2006. Julia joins brothers Nathaniel and Jacob.
Charlene (Goodberry) Virkler’99 and Joshua Virkler welcomed a new baby girl, Rebekah Jane, February 5, 2007. Rebekah joins sister Jasmine Claire. Jan’77 and Tyler’74 Goodberry and Mark and Patti Virler’74 are the proud grandparents.
Matthew Campbell’99 and wife Rose are the proud parents of a new baby boy, Ethan Matthew, born June 28, 2007.
Barbara Ann Burkhardt MSW’00 passed away August 9, 2007, after a brief illness. Contributions in her memory to Therapy Dogs International are encouraged.
Shari (Hall) Schuck’00 and husband John welcomed their first child, Alexandria Kathleen, in 2005. Shari was ordained in 2006 and graduated with an M.Div. from Campbell University Divinity School in 2007. She is a youth pastor at Bergen United Methodist Church in Bergen, NY.
Don Coleman’00 recently graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary and has accepted a call to Liberty Presbyterian Church in Delaware, OH, as associate pastor of discipleship. A service of ordination will take place July 22 at Bel Air Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles. Together, Don, his wife Bridgette (Bush)’99, and his son, 18 month old Brennan, are slowly adjusting to life in the Buckeye State.
Kristen Bianchi’00 accepted a teaching position in Naples, Italy, and will be leaving her second grade teaching position with Gates Chili to live and work in Italy.
Aislinn (Adams) Call’00 and Joe Call welcomed a baby girl, Olivia Mackenzie, on February 8, 2007. She joins brother Joey (age 7) and sister Alyssa (age 4).
Sam’01 and Jessica (Drew) Green’01 welcomed a son, Ryan Jonathan, on March 14, 2007. Ryan joins big sister, Mikayla, 2 ½ years old.

Kate (Walter) Saul’01 and Donovan Saul welcomed a new baby girl, Julia Anne, born on May 14, 2007.
Anna (Johnson) McNamara’01 and husband Sean welcomed Caleb Peter, born June 2007. Caleb joins sister Grace and brother Luke. The family recently moved to Kansas where Sean took on a senior leadership role with Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Joelle (Jenkins) Norris’02 married J. Reese Norris on October 9, 2005. Matron of honor was Amy J. (Wolf) McKinney’03. Joelle is presently the choir director at Olive Branch High School in Olive Branch, MS.
Ann Best’03 is a teacher and educational consultant.
James and Bethany Chase’03 welcomed their first child, Brayden Christopher, on June 2, 2007. James is teaching math at Gates-Chili Middle School. Bethany is on maternity leave from teaching at North-Rose Wolcott Middle School. They recently purchased a home in Webster, NY.
Laura (Furniss) George’03 and Cylon George welcomed Arrietty Kate George on April 23, 2007. Arrietty was born at home. She joins brother Taye, who is 4. Laura graduated from Nassau Community College with a degree in Nursing in May 2007. The George family relocated to the Albany area in July, and Laura plans to pursue a career in nursing there.
Mariah (Sylor) Carmichael’05 and Jared Carmichael welcomed Lauryn Melissa, born July 3, 2007.
Jessica Garrison’05 married Aaron Sherman’04 on February 3, 2007. They live in Batavia. Aaron is a teacher at Genesee Valley Boces, and Jessica is a substitute teacher in area schools.
Leah (Mahan) Newton’06 and Robert Newton were united in marriage January 19, 2007, in Warren, PA. Pastor James Mahan, brother of the bride, officiated at the ceremony.
Rachel James’06 married Derek Spink’03 on August 4, 2007, at Park Ridge Free Methodist Church in Greece, NY. Brian Towner’03, Josh Manchester’03, Jonathan Deeb’03, Chad Mitchell’03, and Matthew Cryderman’03 were all groomsmen. Melodee Buchanan’07, Leah Dalton’06, and Erynne Hammond’09 were bridesmaids. Kate Dyksen’07 and Kelly Kuiken’08 were greeters at the wedding. Pastor Wally Fleming officiated. Rachel is an admissions counselor at Roberts, and Derek is working part-time at the Parma Abiding Love Free Methodist Church, while continuing to pursue his Master of Divinity degree at Northeastern Seminary. The couple resides in the Parma/Hilton area of NY.
Rebekah Barringer’07 is a full-time employee of the Rochester Broadway Theatre League. She will be working as the Education Program Assistant and as a Customer Service Assistant.
Kevin Beckford OM’04 recently relocated to Tampa, FL, for a new position as the vice president for South East Group Operation Manager for Research & Adjustment at Bank of America.
