Induction of Angela (Jimenez) McGinnis'83

into the Sports Hall of Fame ~ Homecoming 2006

Angela (Jimenez) McGinnis
was an outstanding track athlete from 1980 to 1983. She was also a member of the cheerleading squad during her first two years of College and had a short stint on the cross-country team.  While at Roberts, Angela excelled in sprinting, jumps and relays. In fact, Angela was named the Senior Female Athlete of the Year in 1983 and interestingly enough, her husband Merl was named the Senior Male Athlete at Roberts that same year.  As a track and field athlete Angela set school records for indoor track in the 300 meters and 400 meters and for outdoor track in the 200 meters and 400 meters. Her times still remain in the top 10 for each of those categories.  Currently, Angela and Merl, also a member of the Sports Hall of Fame, live in Falconer, NY, with their three children, 17 year-old Michael, 15 year-old Andrew, and 12 year-old Aaron.  Professionally, Angela serves as a registered nurse in the cardiac wing of WCA Hospital in Jamestown, NY.

Roberts Wesleyan College

Announces Important Verification Project for Alumni

Roberts Wesleyan College alumni will soon be contacted with an important verification project for the College.

Data Verification forms will be mailed to all alumni in March 2007.  Each form will be imprinted with the information currently on file for alumni.

It’s important that everyone take just a few minutes to correct the data listed on their Verification form.  For many, it’s been years since this information has been updated.  As a result, a significant number of our records contain outdated and incomplete information.

As a special courtesy to our alumni, the information gathered during this special data verification project will be incorporated in the upcoming College Directory project.

Alumni are strongly urged to mail their completed Verification forms within 14 days of receipt, even if there are no updates to the information listed.  This timely response will verify all alumni have taken advantage of this important opportunity to confirm the accuracy of their information.

RWC SIFE Team Needs YOU!

For the fourth year in a row, the RWC SIFE Team will be involved with the United Way C.A.S.H. Program. Each year, RWC SIFE students volunteer to help low-income families in Monroe County get, keep, and save their hard earned money. This year, we ask that interested faculty, staff and alumni join the RWC SIFE team in this worthy cause. By volunteering as a tax preparer, front desk manager, or C.A.S.H. advisor, families have realized as much as $5,000 in earned income tax credit. No experience necessary. Volunteers are asked to give 3-4 hours per week from January 20 through April 16 at the United Way C.A.S.H. super sites. Training is required and support is provided while volunteering.
