Homecoming 2007

Gateway to New Horizons

September 28 ~ 29, 2007

We are beginning to send out class letters for Homecoming inviting class years with 2s and 7s to fill out questionnaires for a Class Reunion Notebook. The Notebook will be sent to each member of the class, whether you return to campus for Homecoming or not. Your classmates will know what you've been up to all these years. If you're a member of the following classes, make plans to come back to reminisce with old friends, tour the new library, and be amazed at how the campus is growing. . .

1957, 1962, 1967, 1972, 1977, 1982, 1987, 1992, 1997, 2002

If you don't want to mail the questionnaire back, simply go to the Alumni page to fill one out. Let us know if you're coming back, so we can post your name on the site. You will be able to go to your class year to see if your friends are returning, and if they aren't, you can encourage them to meet you back at Roberts for the weekend.

Dinner For Eight

Jackie Brenon, Suzanne Daly, Mishell Puente, Abigail Neilson, Bethany Cross, and Linsday Tersmette spent an evening at the home of Jack and Mary Lou Bates. This is the fourth year that Jack and Mary Lou have welcomed these girls into their home. Now that they are graduating, the Bates will need to adopt another group of girls to enjoy a wonderful dinner in their home as part of the Dinner for Eight experience for both students and alumni families.

On the right-hand side are girls who went to Beth Richardson's '00 for dinner. From left to right are Sarah Buscaglia, Crystall Coy, Urvi Patel, Beth, Jen Metheny, and Allison Galvano.

Don't think that only female students attend a home-cooked meal. Many of our male students also enjoy the dinners with alumni. These are some of the families who sent pictures of their guests.

Senior Celebration Week

During Senior Celebration week, several events were planned to help prepare the RWC seniors for the next step after graduation.  Activities included a seminar on financial planning, a job recruitment day, and a dining for success dinner. Many employers say they will not make a hiring decision until they have dined with a candidate.   This dinner allowed seniors to practice their dining etiquette skills and to network with some local alumni.  Students and alumni all enjoyed a five course meal while gaining some excellent etiquette tips from Patti Radel, Administrative Assistant to Dr. John Martin.

Alumni Association/SA Movie Night

The Alumni Association and Student Association teamed up to provide students and prospective students a night out at the VAC with pizza, soda, and a movie. Students brought their sleeping bags, pillows, and blankets while enjoying"The Pursuit of Happyness," starring Will Smith and his own son Jaden.
