Law and Fashion: How One Roberts Graduate Has Used Her Degree to Excel in the Dallas Fashion Industry (Leah Frazier '04)

Leah Frazier ’04 (Criminal Justice) never imagined she would move from her home in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area to study and play basketball in Western New York. However, that experience and journey has helped her to accomplish much since graduating in 2004.

In the few years since graduating, Leah earned a law degree from the Texas Wesleyan University School of Law (now a part of Texas A&M), she’s a board member for the Texas A&M University School of Law Alumni Board, she’s a triple-licensed attorney and founder of LJ Infinity and Diamond Icon Image and Styling Consultants (both companies focus on fashion and image).

Leah has been awarded as one of “Dallas’ Most Successful Women” and “The One to Watch.” She has also been featured in the Dallas area in multiple publications, providing fashion advice and legal contributions and is the current editor of the DFW Style Daily. Leah has also conducted high-profile interviews as a journalist with people like Ivanka Trump and for New York Fashion Week Coverage.

This is exciting and glamorous work, but it also provides Leah an opportunity to live out her faith in a very competitive environment.

“Roberts had a deep impact on my life – more than any words can actually describe. Intellectually, my professors pushed me to bounds that I never thought imaginable. They were able to see things in me that I wasn’t quite able to see in myself, especially at such a young age…Spiritually, I was immature when I arrived at Roberts. I appreciated the consistent Chapel presentations and opportunities Roberts afforded me for spiritual growth. It also helped to be surrounded by faculty and staff who lived by what they preached – these are the things that I observed while at Roberts and let me know that it is possible to be happy professionally and also deeply connected on a spiritual level.”

Coach Chris Williams made a big impact. He believed in Leah, and helped to model what living life like Christ looked like as a father, husband, and friend. Dr. Debra Heath-Thornton also had a major impact. Leah says, “She saw things in me intellectually that I didn’t want to see in myself. I wanted to fly by and take the easy road out, and she would never let me do it. She encouraged me to apply for law school and to pursue it whole-heartedly. If it weren’t for her, I have no idea where I would be at today. My life is so abundant and blessed because of her ability to push me into what I didn’t believe that I could do.”

All that has led to an exciting and fulfilling career. As an attorney turned “Fashion-Preneur,” Leah has the opportunity to meet with national clients through Diamond Icon Image and Styling Consultants. She’s also founding The FashionPreneur Institute (opening Fall 2015). These all give her a great speaking platform as she serves on panels and teaches workshops on numerous topics within the fashion industry.

“Abandoning my career as an attorney was not anything that I would have imagined – it was completely God-led. Six years ago he gave me a vision that as a stylist I would impact the lives of women. I kept having the same dream over and over again, until one day I answered the call with a simple ‘yes.’ …If you accept your calling and bathe your business in prayer, He will make provision and He will create endless opportunities for dynamic growth. My life is a testament to this and I can’t wait to see others embark on the same journey.”

Leah lives in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area with her family nearby. She’s currently a member of Covenant Church in Carrollton, Texas, and loves being involved there as much as possible. In the community, she teaches workshops on styling and blogging and is a mentor with Resorted Hope Ministries.
