Tim Spaulding ’04 (OM) Fighting Human Trafficking Through Freedom 4/24

Tim Spaulding ’04 (Organizational Management) leads the organization Freedom 4/24 (headquartered in Lynchburg, Virginia). Freedom 4/24 is dedicated to raising awareness of sexual exploitation and human trafficking and to raise funds supporting Christ-centered organizations in the trenches combating this insidious evil. Their goal is to mobilize and engage communities, churches, and individuals to be a part of the solution and to help end modern-day slavery.

After graduating from Roberts, Tim went on to study law at Regent University, completing his J.D. degree in 2007. While at Regent he was the Executive Editor, The Regent Journal of International Law.  He attended law school with the intent to get involved in the fight to end child sex trafficking.

His Roberts and Regent experiences really helped prepare him for this work and ministry. Roberts’ emphasis on real-world experience, that integrates theory with practice, was influential during his OM degree experience. Dr. Elvera Berry also challenged him to write succinctly and forcefully, a skill that has helped him tremendously as an attorney and now as President of a non-profit.

In January 2015, after 7 years practicing law, Tim shut down his law practice to devote himself full-time to Freedom 4/24. For the last two years God had slowly been opening the door to pursue this passion full-time, and it was definitely the right decision. Running a non-profit can be difficult and challenging, but it has been a privilege to fight for freedom on behalf of countless women and children around the world.

Tim and his wife, Cindi, look forward to celebrating 14 years of marriage in July. They are blessed with 3 children and attend Grace Evangelical Free Church in Lynchburg, Virginia.
