Scholarship Funds

Approximately 94% of Roberts Wesleyan College students require financial aid, despite every effort to keep costs low, as demonstrated by the College being selected among the top ten “Best Value” colleges and universities nationally by the Princeton Review.  Roberts Wesleyan aims to make Christian higher education more attainable for all qualified students, regardless of financial needs.  Your participation in this objective is welcomed.

Unrestricted Scholarships
Each year, RWC’s Scholar Sharing Fund provides unrestricted aid for students with financial need.  It is funded only through the gifts of alumni and friends.

Restricted Scholarships
Restricted Scholarships disperse funds according to the wishes of the donors to the fund.  These funds may be established to help RWC students who are majoring in any field of study or who are from a particular interest group (e.g., students from single parent homes; students from a particular region, etc.). Friends or relatives may also be honored by creating a scholarship in their name. RWC currently has approximately 100 active restricted scholarship funds.

Restricted Scholarships are grouped into two categories depending on the method of funding. The two categories are Endowed and Expendable, and each of these types of scholarships can be funded with cash, securities, or estate gifts.

Endowed Scholarship Funds keep all donations to the fund as principal and use only interest earned for scholarship awards. The advantage of this kind of scholarship is that it creates a perpetuating fund, which will generate scholarship award monies for as long as the institution exists. The minimum amount required to establish an endowed fund is $20,000. A gift of any size may be contributed to an existing fund.  Download a current list of Endowed Scholarships. (PDF)

Expendable Scholarship Funds use the total amount donated for scholarship awards. There is a $2,000 minimum required to establish an expendable scholarship fund.  Download a current list of Expendable Scholarships. (PDF)
