Director - Center for Christian Social Ministries, an outgrowth of the present Master of Social Work Program that serves Faith-Based organizations with technical assistance and other consulting services.
He has been an Assistant Professor at Roberts Wesleyan College in the department of Social Work since 1995. From 1995-2003 Len was Director of Field Education at Roberts and helped to establish over 270 student internship sites with community agencies, and served as faculty liaison to approximately 40-50% of of the MSW student interns. |

Janet Furness
LMSW, ACSW.
Director , MSW Program
Consults with congregations to mobilize them for helping ministries in the church and for networking with community resources, including grant writing. She is a founding member of Christians Supporting Community Organizing, which endeavors to engage with existing community organizing efforts to address social justice issues raised, particularly by faith-based communities. A social work practitioner in faith-based agencies and volunteer organizations for over 30 years, her experience includes organizing helps committees in local churches, training and supervising support group ministries, and consulting congregations about program development. She is committed to communication as central to successful relationships in congregational and community planning and service. She has been on the faculty of the Division of Social Work since 1996 and is the Director of the Master of Social Work Program.

Garry Manuel
Founder and director of Project U.R.G.E., Inc., a 501©3 organization whose mission is: Connecting and uniting churches, organizations and individuals in working together to break down barriers of poverty, race and despair in the name of Jesus Christ. One of the organization’s main objectives is to have faith-based organizations and churches partnering in activities and projects toward the stated mission, with an intentional focus on urban/suburban churches building relationships in the process. The servant teams and board are cross-denominational and racially diverse.
Garry is also founder and owner of Manuel’s Music Studio, which has been serving the Perinton area with music instruction since 1980. He manages the operations and teaches guitar, as well. His background includes performing, recording and teaching guitar. He was involved with performing in several regional music groups. Additionally, he has been involved with using his talents on music worship teams and organized several Concert of Praise of events. Garry and his wife also led children’s worship for several years.
Garry’s faith led him to do volunteer work at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church in cooperation with Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, in a Saturday morning program called, “Kidz Kafe’”. This program was involved with feeding and caring for children from ages 3 to 15. Serving these children for over 7 years was the catalyst for the start of Project U.R.G.E., (Urban Revitalization, God Experienced).
Garry attends Crosswinds Wesleyan Church in Canandaigua, NY. and has been married to his wife Mary (a music teacher) since 1985 and has a son, Marshall who is 14 years of age. |
