Teaching Responsibilities:

John W. McNeill is a well-known percussion teacher and performing musician. He is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music (B.M 1970, M.A 1973) where he studied with John Beck, and the Wesleyan University World Music Program.  He has been an adjunct faculty member of both Roberts Wesleyan College and the State University of New York at Oswego since 1972. In addition, he has operated his own private percussion studio in Rochester, New York, for over 25 years. Mr. McNeil has been a percussionist with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra since 1972. He is also a member of the Rochester Marimba Band, the jazz/rock group “Sun-Up”, and is an active freelance performer and recording artist.
