Originally from Korea, Jung Choi made her solo debut in Seoul, performing the Mozart Oboe Concerto with the Seoul Chamber Orchestra, and in the fall of 2006, made her debut performing the Strauss Oboe Concerto with the Eastman Philharmonic.  She has been awarded many prizes in different competition in Korea such as Busan Music Competition and the Seoul National University Woodwind Competition.  She has served as principal oboist in the Seoul Civic Orchestra and substituted in most major orchestras in Seoul including the Seoul Philharmonic.  She is currently substituting in orchestras in the Rochester area.
