Audition Requirements
Voice Audition
Singers should prepare two contrasting compositions, not to exceed ten minutes in total length. Music should be chosen from art song literature, opera or oratorio.
An accompanist will be provided for vocal auditions only. Vocalists who need an accompanist must send music to the music office at least two weeks prior to the audition date.
Optional: Those who have keyboard background are encouraged to prepare a short work on the piano to display competency. An audition is desirable for those who are proficient on a wind, string, or percussion instrument(s).
Keyboard Audition
Pianists and organists should perform two contrasting classical compositions or etudes, not to exceed ten minutes in total length.
Wind and String Audition
Brass, woodwinds and string players are required to perform two contrasting compositions, movements, or etudes, not exceed ten minutes in length.
Percussion Audition
Percussionists are required to perform two snare drum solos or etudes. Timpani and melodic percussion solos should be presented if possible.
