All faculty within the Division of Visual Arts possess the terminal degree and are active
professional artists within their area of studio discipline. The faculty has chosen to teach here at
Roberts Wesleyan College for very specific philosophical reasons, which include, as a priority, our
collective relationship-based teaching style. This style of instruction encourages and challenges
the developing visual arts student to participate with faculty in a mentor-mentee relationship within
a community of life-long learners.
It is our collective contention that this atmosphere of dynamic engagement within our discipline,
in the context of the liberal arts, provides the students with a nurturing and comprehensive environment.
Our students become critical thinkers, able to solve complex problems, and contemplate their place and impact within the
richness of God's creation
