Director of Master of Social Work Field Education, Assistant Professor of Social Work
Position:
The Director of MSW Field Education, Assistant Professor of Social Work, is an 11-month, full-time, tenure-track faculty position, available immediately. The Director of MSW Field Education serves within the College and community as an ambassador of the Mission of RWC, the standards of the Social Work Program, and the Social Work Code of Ethics; reports to the Chair of the Division of Social Work, and collaborates closely with the Director of the MSW Program. A strong faculty development program exists.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a master of social work degree from a CSWE-accredited program, at least two years post-master’s social work practice experience with diverse populations in a variety of social work settings, and must be licensed at the LMSW or LCSW level. An earned doctorate in social work or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred, and is necessary for future tenure and promotion consideration. Ability to relate to students, administrative experience, and proven skills in developing positive relationships with community agencies and professional colleagues are essential for the smooth operation of the Field Education Program.
Responsibilities:
To successfully administer the field work program for all students enrolled in the MSW Program, the Director develops field education sites in the local area, provides training and orientation to field instructors each fall semester, secures field instruction sites for all graduate students, assigns faculty liaisons between the students and the field instructors, ensures current field agency information, and completes relevant administrative documentation. The Director of MSW Field Education also assists with information and recruitment meetings within the community, interviews prospective students as needed, and teaches MSW courses as requested and able.
