Student Senate
The Student Senate is the main legislative body of the Student Association. It consists of the Cabinet of the Student Association, one representative from each residence hall, and an additional representative from residence halls with more than 100 students, three representatives from the commuter population, elected representatives from each of the four classes, one representative from the Staff Association, and one representative from the faculty. The Senate holds a direct responsibility to the Student Association, serving in various capacities to assist in carrying out the purposes of the Association. The Senate is a deliberative committee, considering all Association resolutions, with the power to make recommendations. The Senate also serves as an intermediary between faculty, administration, and the student body.
