  • Download 2008-09 Parking form for residents
  • All faculty, staff and student vehicles, including motorcycles or similar vehicles must be registered with the Campus Security Office.  Residents & faculty/staff vehicles must display parking permits on left side window behind the driver.  Commuters & adult/graduate programs must hang permits from rear view mirror, facing forward.  Motorcycles must display a permit on the top half of the left front fork.  All vehicles not displaying a current parking permit in these locations will be ticketed if they are parked on campus.
  • Parking Permits are valid through August of each year - Issued by the security office
    • Resident Students: Please pre-pay either by mail or at the cashier’s window at the start of the semester. You must pick up your pass at the Security office (VAC Room 241).
    • Commuters: Permit fee is included on your student account. You must pick up your pass at the Security Office (Room 241 VAC) anytime after August 1.
  • Students returning to campus with a vehicle following breaks must register the vehicle and purchase a parking permit upon arrival on campus.  Call 6170 for assistance.
  • Students changing vehicles during the year must register and obtain a parking permit for the "new" vehicle with Campus Security. There is no new charge for this.  Please bring in the old permit.
  • Students and visitors who have a car on campus for a short period (2 weeks or less) and commuter students who plan to spend a night on campus during the semester must secure a temporary permit.  Overnight parking for temporary passes is restricted to the lower Voller Athletic Center (VAC) parking lot. There is no charge for this pass. Call 6170 for assistance or stop by the Security Office.
  • Except where otherwise noted, all regulations are enforced the entire year.
Parking and Driving Regulations
  • Campus Security enforces all New York State vehicle and traffic laws.
  • Campus speed limit is 15 mph.
  • Parking in front of trash dumpsters is not permitted.  Space must be left open for disposal trucks to access the containers.
  • Parking or driving on the grass or sidewalks is not permitted except for move in/out days, to load and unload.  Only at that time will the east and west side of the Quads be accessible for students.  Use of these areas at other times without permission will result in a ticket. Only authorized maintenance/service and emergency vehicles may use these areas throughout the year.
  • No parking in any private driveway or delivery entrance or intersection of the sidewalk and road.
  • Parking on campus roadways is not permitted.
  • NO PARKING ON ORCHARD STREET - Town of Chili Ordinance.

  • All parking and directional signs/signals must be obeyed.
  • Most of the school's parking lots have specific areas, which are reserved for faculty, staff, visitor or handicapped parking.  Students and their guests are responsible for knowing these restricted areas, even if there is no posted sign.  See reverse side for parking lot listings and designated use.
  • No student parking will be permitted at any time in designated RD/RA parking areas.
  • Handicap parking requires a valid Handicap Permit issued by the Town Clerk’s Office.
Snow Emergencies

A fresh snowfall necessitates that snow removal equipment be able to clear campus roads and parking areas.  Notice will be given as to the day and hour specific parking lots will be cleared.  Vehicle owners are expected to be alert to these notices and to move their cars before the designated times.  Failure to do so will subject the owner to a fine and towing at the owner's expense.

Enforcement and Penalties
  • Campus Security will issue tickets to violators of campus regulations.
  • The fine is marked on the ticket and payable to RWC at the Campus Security Office, located in the upper level VAC, during regular office hours or can be sent through Campus Mail.  After 10 days, any unpaid fines will be doubled.  Grades and transcripts will be withheld from any students with unpaid fines.
  • Appeals of fines may be made to the Parking Appeals Court through the Campus Security Office in writing, and must include the ticket.  Appeal forms can be found outside of Room 241 in the Voller Athletic Center or on www/rwc.roberts.edu.  Appeals must be submitted in writing within 5 working days.  No appeals will be considered after this deadline.  Questions concerning parking violations and tickets should be directed to the director’s office of Campus Security.
  • Persistent student violators will be subject to additional disciplinary action including loss of campus parking privileges.

Appeals
  • A Parking Appeals Court will be made up of a Roberts Wesleyan College staff member, a representative from Student Services and a representative from the Student Body.
  • This committee will meet as needed throughout the semester and will consider only written appeals.  Appeals, which are not submitted within 5 working days of the parking violation will not be considered.  Notification of approved/denied appeals will be sent to the Campus Security Office and the student involved.
