Campus Parking

The Campus Safety and Security Team is responsible for enforcement of all parking rules and regulations. To view current parking rules and regulations click the link at the bottom of the page. The Security Department enforces the Parking and Traffic rules and regulations by issuing notices of violations (Tickets) to those who violate the campus rules and regulations. Written appeals for tickets can be made within five days of the date on the ticket by completing an Appeal Form. This form can be obtained outside the Campus Security Office (Room 241) or Clicking the link at the bottom of the page. The Parking Appeals Committee meets on an as needed basis. It consists of one representative each from the student body, faculty / staff, and student services.

ALL vehicles on campus property must be registered with Campus Safety and Security. All lots are labeled with identification signs such as Lot A, B, etc. Each parking permit sticker/hang tag is also labeled with the approved lot(s) for parking. The lot(s) listed on the sticker/hang tag is the ONLY place on campus the vehicle is approved to be parked.

Commuter/Graduate Students need to obtain a hang tag each school year. These permits expire August of each year. The fee for parking is included in all commuter students’ financial statement. Commuter students need to stop by the Security office (VAC 241) to register their vehicle and pick up a current hang tag. (In some Adult Programs, the program coordinator handles the issuing of hang tags and retrieval of registration cards during orientation.) The make, model, year, and license plate number of the car will be needed to fill out the registration card. If this information changes throughout the year it should be updated in the Security Office.

Resident Student’s parking is based on residence hall assignments. The RWC Fees Committee sets the fees for the permits based on the location of the lot. The current rates can be obtained by inquiring at the Security Office or on the Resident Student Registration Form. Students will be asked to make their lot selection, submit the completed form (click here for Resident Student Registration Online Form or download the form here), provide payment as directed to the Cashier’s Office in the Rinker Community Center Building, and pick up the parking pass in the security office. There are limited spaces in some resident parking lots and these will be assigned on a first come first serve basis using the date of receipt of payment. Resident Student parking stickers are for the current Academic Year only (September to August) and must be re-registered again at the start of the fall semester. Residents who bring a new/different car on campus during the semester need to pick up a new pass in the Security Office (VAC 241).

Faculty and Staff are required to register their vehicles and display the issued permit. There is NO FEE for this parking permit. This permit is valid until further notice. Please contact Campus Security to obtain a registration card, and to make changes to your current vehicle information.

Overnight visitors are asked to register their cars by contacting the Security Office. A temporary permit will be issued at no charge.

Temporary Permits can be used for up to a two week period. Students are eligible for one temporary permit per semester if they will have a vehicle on campus for less than two weeks.
