Event, Lineup, and General Information

President’s Farewell Dinner for Graduates – Friday, May 16, 4:45 – 6:00 p.m., Garlock Dining Commons
This dinner, hosted by President and Mrs. Martin, will be served in Garlock Dining Commons, Roberts Wesleyan College. Participating graduates will receive a complimentary ticket upon request. Guest tickets (ages 5+) are available for purchase ($15.00 each). Tickets are not necessary for children ages 4 and under.  The complimentary graduate ticket and guest tickets should be requested via the Online Reservation Form, which must be completed and received in the Office of Student Services by Monday, May  5, 2008.  Casual attire is appropriate for this event.  Please park in the Smith Science Center parking lot, where shuttle service will be provided to Garlock Dining Commons. 

Baccalaureate Service – Saturday, May 17, 9:30 a.m., Pearce Memorial Church
The Baccalaureate Service, a worship celebration for graduates and their guests, calls for academic apparel (caps and gowns) and appropriate dress.  It is inappropriate to wear jewelry and/or a corsage on the outside of academic apparel.  Graduates should arrive at the Pearce Memorial Church Family Life Center by 9:00 a.m. for robing. Guests are encouraged to arrive by 9:00 a.m., as seating is limited.

Commencement Buffet* - Saturday, May 17, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Garlock Dining Commons
Upon request, participating graduates will receive a complimentary ticket for the Commencement Buffet. Guest tickets may be purchased (ages 10 – Adult) $16.00 each; (ages 5-9) $9.00 each.  There is no charge for children ages 4 and younger, but tickets are required.  Complimentary and additional guest tickets must be requested via the Online Reservation Form, which must be completed and received in the Office of Student Services by Monday, May 5, 2008. 

Commencement Ceremony Lineup
Lineup information will be packaged with your cap, gown, and tickets.  There will be two lineup locations for graduates (upper level, Voller Athletic Center, and the Rinker Community Service Center).  All graduates should arrive at their respective lineup location at 2:15 p.m. for robing.  Please note that in lieu of a Commencement rehearsal, instructions will be given to graduates as they robe and line up.

General Commencement Information
All graduates are expected to participate in the Commencement ceremony.  If extenuating circumstances prevent your participation, it is important that you send a letter of explanation, with a request to graduate in absentia, to Dr. Robert Zwier, Office of the Provost, Roberts Wesleyan College, 2301 Westside Drive, Rochester, New York  14624-1997 or email ProvostsOffice@Roberts.edu

This will be a distinguished ceremony, calling for academic apparel (caps and gowns) and appropriate dress.  The Commencement Ceremony is expected to conclude by 5:00 p.m.

*Roberts’ Divisions of Social Sciences, Social Work and Nursing will each host a separate brunch for their graduate students (i.e. School Counseling, School Psychology, Social Work and Nursing Administration). These graduate students should refer to a separate mailing from their respective divisions for brunch details.
