R.E.A.C.H. Program
R.E.A.C.H. is an acronym for Robert’s educating adolescents and creating heroes. The Westside Academy became involved with Roberts Wesleyan in an effort to try to change the attitudes young people have about people in the Criminal Justice field. Westside students, with R.E.A.C.H. mentors, attend Criminal Justice classes at the College. It is here that they learn about such values as Honesty, Excellence, Respect, and Obligation. After class, the Westside Academy students and the R.E.A.C.H. mentors are given time to explore the College campus and give Westside students a “taste” of college life. The partnership serves two main purposes: to provide Westside Academy students a firsthand look at what they can achieve by being successful in their academics, and to provide the Robert’s students an opportunity to participate in a field experience that enables them to present the Criminal Justice system in a positive light.
