| Master of Science in Nursing Bridge Program
The RN - MS Bridge Program is designed for the practicing nurse who has achieved a non-nursing baccalaureate degree and wishes to matriculate in the Master of Science in nursing degree program at Roberts Wesleyan College Division of Nursing. The program is designed to augment the students’ knowledge base with material that is found only in BS in nursing degree programs and therefore, is definitive of the nursing profession. In other words, the Bridge Program will ensure that the student will be exposed to the baccalaureate level knowledge unique to nursing. This program is not designed to be equivalent to a BS with a major in nursing, but rather prepares the student to move directly into the MS in nursing degree program. Each student’s academic transcripts will be assessed to determine whether s/he needs one, two, or three courses to complete the Bridge Program (see below).
The Bridge Program consists of:
An introductory statistics course (including descriptive and inferential statistics) if such a course was not part of the student’s BS/BA degree. This course may be taken at Roberts Wesleyan College or transferred in with approval.
NSG 501 – Nursing: Defining Attributes – A 4-credit, 6-week time-shortened course meeting primarily online with the expectation of 20 hours of homework/week.
NSG 502 – Nursing Research – A 2-credit, 3-week time-shortened course to follow 501 in the
same format. This course is for students who have not had an acceptable undergraduate
research course.
