Format
Classes meet one night per week from 6-10pm for 18 weeks.

The certificate program is modular, allowing you to focus on one class at a time at an accelerated pace.
Credit Options
Upon completion of this program, all students will receive a certificate from the Program and 7.2 CEUs. Students wishing to seek academic credit must be matriculated in a graduate program at Roberts Wesleyan College. For matriculated students, a meeting with the Master of Science in Strategic Leadership Program Director is required.

BUS 500N
Organizational Leadership
This course examines the role that servant leaders play in empowering employees, providing the environment for effective work units, and harnessing diversity (organizational, cognitive and physio-cultural) for competitive advantage.
BUS 511N
Nonprofit Management and Governance
Learners examine the legal requirements for establishing and operating nonprofit organizations and for securing tax-exempt status. Participants compare nonprofit management styles and learn tools and methods for creating internal systems that set standards of accountability. This course also covers the roles and responsibilities of nonprofit personnel and volunteers, risk management, and the changing role of nonprofit organizations in American society.

Institutional Advancement: Obtaining and Managing External Resources
This course examines the fundamentals of philanthropy, the motivation of donors, fund-raising techniques, case development, and programs and issues including membership, solicitation, and capital campaigns. Attention is also given to the process of securing grants, managing institutional image, and facilitating volunteerism.
