Welcome!

Welcome to the Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership, a program designed for the professional development of leaders at nonprofit organizations.

In the 21st century, almost every American is touched in some capacity by the services of nonprofit organizations. Many of these services come from civic groups, hospitals, day care centers, institutions of religious worship, the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, and the American Cancer Society, just to mention a few.

Recognizing a need to develop leaders in the nonprofit sector, we designed a certificate that would cover three specific areas including organizational leadership, nonprofit management and governance, and institutional advancement (fund raising).

What does this program offer?
At Roberts Wesleyan College, we believe that fundamental organizational and management principles can be used by leaders and potential leaders in the nonprofit sector to strengthen both their systems and service delivery. As the pool for donor resources becomes more diluted and government regulations change the face of the nonprofit arena, the demand for highly skilled individuals has escalated. Roberts’ Nonprofit Leadership Certificate Program was designed to support you in developing the leadership skills you need to help your organization succeed, and to address the specific issues facing leaders in nonprofit organizations.

What will I learn?
Do you have the skills necessary to succeed in today’s nonprofit environment? Leaders in nonprofit organizations today face the unique challenge of combining top-notch leadership skills with nonprofit expertise to effectively interact and manage relationships within a variety of different communities.
